Scottie Scheffler Passes Tiger Woods on PGA Tour's Career Earnings List, Rory McIlroy Nears 2nd

Scottie Scheffler is well on his way to being one of the best golfers in PGA Tour history, and he surpassed a legend on the career earnings list on Sunday.

After winning the TOUR Championship, he took over first place on the PGA Tour career earnings list with $130,390,661. Tiger Woods previously led the list with $120,999,166.

Rory McIlroy, who came into this week's tournament with $117,848,372 in career earnings, is also nearing Woods after finishing tied for fourth on Sunday.

Woods has been the top earner on the PGA Tour since 2000, so Scheffler's dethroning of him is no small feat. Scheffler is also just 30 years old and has plenty of time to keep climbing before he retires.

But McIlroy isn't far off from the top spot and could come for it soon.

He would have surpassed Woods had he finished solo fourth or better on Sunday, but he'll instead have to wait for his next PGA Tour event to take over second place.

McIlroy's 2026 campaign has been far from his best. He won the Masters in April but has only had three other top-five finishes, one of which came on Sunday. He's currently in 11th place in the FedEx Cup standings.

Scheffler secured his second FedEx Cup title on Sunday and will add another $10 million to his career earnings.

"This was a week I brought a lot of good energy to the course and tried to do my best," Scheffler said at the trophy presentation. "Coming from behind and being able to win tournaments is a really cool feeling."
