Micah Parsons Injury Update, Latest Timeline on Packers Star After Being Placed on PUP List

The Green Bay Packers will officially be without Micah Parsons until sometime in October at the earliest.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Packers have placed the star pass-rusher on the Reserve/PUP list as he continues to recover from last season's torn ACL, meaning he's ineligible to play for the first four games.

The earliest date Parsons could return would be the team's Oct. 11 matchup against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field, which would only add to the hype of the rivalry game.

The Packers acquired the 27-year-old Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys just before the 2025 season for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark and promptly signed him to a four-year, $188 million extension.

He responded by registering 12.5 sacks, 41 tackles (12 for loss), 27 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles and a pass defensed across 14 games, his fifth straight season with 12 or more sacks and his third time earning first-team All-Pro honors.

Pro Football Focus ranked him as the No. 13 player in the NFL last season, citing a "90.0-plus PFF overall grade for the fourth straight season, with his 22.6 percent PFF pass-rush win rate ranking fourth among all edge defenders."

But Parsons tore his ACL during a mid-December loss against the Denver Broncos, ending his season and calling into question his availability for the start of the 2026 campaign. Parsons also said last week a Week 6 return was in the realm of realistic possibilities, though he wouldn't put an exact timetable on it:
