Ex-WWE Star Velveteen Dream Loses Boxing Debut by DQ, Watch the Reason in Wild, Viral Videos
Former WWE star Patrick Clark Jr., who is known as Velveteen Dream, had quite the strategy in his boxing debut, which ultimately cost him the bout.
Clark tackled opponent Ryan Pownall out of the ring multiple times and was disqualified as a result.
According to Steve Carrier of Ringside News, Clark then took to Instagram Live in the aftermath and recorded himself rejecting the result by saying he "never lost."
The former NXT North American champion threw Pownall into the ropes and out of the ring in the first round and again in the second round. He received a warning and a deducted point due to the second incident, per Carrier, but once again shoved his opponent out of the ring later in the match.
That led to the disqualification, which made Pownall the victor.
Donagh Corby of Bloody Elbow noted Pownall "looked the more technical boxer early" even before the disqualification.
