Watch Masai Russell, Alison dos Santos Make History Breaking Hurdles World Records at Diamond League

The Diamond League saw two world records in hurdles broken by Masai Russell and Alison dos Santos.

Russell is the new world-record holder in the women's 100-meter hurdles after clocking an official time of 12.09 seconds.

Dos Santos set the new mark in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 45.80 seconds.

"I felt like [I could break the world record] throughout the whole season. Today I was able to execute," dos Santos said after his historic run.

The previous women's 100-meter hurdles record of 12.12 seconds by Tobi Amusan stood for more than four years.

Norway's Karsten Warholm held the men's 400-meter hurdles record since 2021 when he broke it twice. He originally set the mark of 46.70 seconds at the Diamond League, then followed it up with a run of 45.94 seconds at the Tokyo Olympics.
