Top pick Fernando Mendoza got his final tuneup before the start of the regular season on Thursday as the Las Vegas Raiders took on the San Francisco 49ers in their preseason finale.

Kirk Cousins got the start for Las Vegas and completed eight of his 11 passes for 51 yards. He played two series, both of which led to field goals.

Mendoza finished the game with 57 yards and an interception on 7-of-14 passing. He also took two sacks.

Mendoza came in for the Raiders after Cousins' night ended, and things got off to a rough start. His second pass of the night was a bit high and ended up in the hands of the 49ers' Tatim Bethune.

Mendoza's second drive was a three-and-out after he was sacked by Keion White.

He appeared to be getting into a groove on his third series of the night, but he once again took a sack, and the Raiders were forced to punt.

While his first few drives were a bit rough, Mendoza put together a strong two-minute drill to lead Las Vegas to a field goal before halftime. After the half, he put the Raiders in field goal position, but Matt Gay missed the 54-yarder.

With his preseason now in the books, Mendoza finished his first three professional games with 240 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions on 25-of-45 passing.

It's perhaps not the start he would have liked to have, but the Raiders are surely expecting him to take some time to adjust before getting the reins to the offense.
