DeAngelo Hall Injury: Updates on Redskins CB's Toe and Return

Scott PolacekAug 16, 2015

Washington cornerback DeAngelo Hall left the team's Aug. 16 practice "after spraining a toe on his left foot,” according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post. He missed the team's preseason contest against the Detroit Lions but ended up playing against the Baltimore Ravens. He is expected to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Sept. 3 matchup, according to Jones

According to Jones on Aug. 16, Hall had suffered the injury while guarding wide receiver Rashad Ross and “stepped awkwardly as he ran and immediately went to his knees.” A team spokesman said Hall would be evaluated further, and the extent of the damage was unknown at the time.

The players were not wearing pads during the drill, and Hall eventually "gingerly" walked off the field in pain.

This is not the first injury for the veteran this training camp. He strained his groin Aug. 6, per CSNWashington.com's Tarik El-Bashir, and missed three days of practice, although he returned for the team’s preseason opener.

Washington’s secondary finished a disappointing 24th in the league last year against the pass without Hall as the anchor guarding the opposition’s best receiver and providing veteran leadership.
