Jeff Fisher Says Vince Young's Spelling Error Led Him to Not Respond to Apology Letter in Video

Former head coach Jeff Fisher said that he didn't respond to an apology letter from former quarterback Vince Young regarding the end of their shared tenure on the Tennessee Titans due to a spelling error.

"You know, he spelled my name wrong," Fisher said in the documentary Untold: The Testimony of Vince Young (0:45 mark). "So I didn't know that it had come from him. I guess in retrospect it would have been nice to give him s--t about spelling my name wrong, you know?"

Young also explained what led to him sending the letter to Fisher.

"You know, I didn't want to leave anything open," Young said (0:21 mark). "No wounds open. So I was like, 'I hope you can forgive me for how I handled a lot of things with the Titans.' So that's why I sent him that letter."

Young and Fisher were both with the Titans from 2006-10, helping the team make two playoff appearances over that span.

During the 2010 season, they verbally clashed in the locker room following a Week 11 loss before Young wasn't permitted to attend a team meeting.

After Tennessee wrapped up a 6-10 finish that year, Fisher was fired before Young was released from the team.
