HBO 'Hard Knocks' NFL Offseason Edition Will Return in 2027, Details Revealed

It remains to be seen which division will be featured, but HBO's Hard Knocks will return next offseason.

NFL media announced Wednesday that its offseason edition will return in 2027 and chronicle four teams in a division as they build their rosters through the NFL draft process and free agency.

Episodes will air on HBO and be available on streaming on HBO Max.

"Our fans are increasingly interested in how NFL rosters are built, as well as the people who build them," NFL Films' senior executive Ross Ketover said. "With Hard Knocks moving to the offseason, we are excited to showcase the tireless work that happens across an entire division, from the moment a season ends to the minute training camp begins."

It won't be the first time an entire division has been featured on the show, as the AFC North was chronicled in 2024 before the NFC East was the focus in 2025. However, both of those editions took place during an actual season and focused more on games and the push for the playoffs.

The first such offseason edition aired in 2024 and just followed the New York Giants.

While it earned a Sports Emmy Award nomination, it also generated headlines because that was the same offseason star running back Saquon Barkley joined the Philadelphia Eagles after starting his career with the Giants.

Giants owner John Mara was seen in one of the episodes saying, "I might have a tough time sleeping if Saquon goes to Philadelphia."

Naturally, when Barkley did, in fact, go to Philadelphia, he ultimately won a Super Bowl with the Eagles.

Wednesday's Hard Knocks news comes as the series is following the Seattle Seahawks during training camp. Seattle won the Super Bowl last season and will look to defend the title, and HBO has provided a behind-the-scenes look at the team's preparation.

Hard Knocks will also return for training camp next year and feature the New England Patriots.
