Giants OL Rips Report Cam Skattebo 'Started a Fight' and Calls Out 'BS Narrative'

New York Giants offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor is pushing back at the report running back Cam Skattebo "started a fight" during Wednesday's practice.

"Stop trying to create a BS Narrative" Eluemunor wrote on social media in response to a report from Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News that revealed Skattebo "started a fight" with reckless play that upset some of his defensive teammates who were not hitting.

"His act is getting old to his defensive teammates," Leonard added.

Eluemunor didn't like the "narrative" from the report, but enough happened for Giants head coach Jim Harbaugh to make quite a notable comment about the team's running back.

"He got a 15-yard penalty at the end of practice," Harbaugh told reporters when asked about Skattebo's infectious energy. "Did you see that? Yeah it's infectious. It can be infectious the other way, an infectious disease type of thing. We want it to be in a positive way."

It should be noted training camp scuffles and fights happen all the time, both at joint practices with other teams and between teammates.

By late August, teams have been dealing with heat and grueling practices for weeks and are surely ready for the regular-season games to begin. That can lead to some frustration, which can lead to those scuffles.

Still, Harbaugh's quote could serve as something of a wake-up call for Skattebo.

His actions were enough for the head coach to compare his energy to that of an "infectious disease" while also pushing for it to be used in a more positive way moving forward.

Skattebo's offensive teammates may have his back, as Eluemunor's comment suggests, but a head coach saying something like that is sure to catch the running back's attention.

If he internalizes it and uses his energy in a more positive way, perhaps he can lead the Giants to a successful season on the offensive side of the ball alongside young playmakers such as Malik Nabers and Jaxson Dart.
