Allen Robinson II Retires From NFL After 11 Seasons, Former Pro Bowl WR Played for Bears, More

Allen Robinson II is calling it a career.

The former Pro Bowl wide receiver announced his retirement on Instagram on Monday after an 11-season career with five teams.

Robinson was drafted in the second round in 2014 after a tremendous collegiate career with Penn State and spent his first four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He had a standout second season in the NFL, racking up 1,400 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, a number that led the league that year. He was named to his only Pro Bowl in 2015.

Unfortunately, in 2017, his career was derailed a bit when he suffered a torn ACL after just one game. That injury ended his time in Jacksonville, as he signed with the Chicago Bears ahead of the 2018 campaign.

Robinson managed to get back on track following the injury, putting together back-to-back seasons with 1,000-plus receiving yards in 2019 and 2020. After those two campaigns, his numbers started to taper off a bit.

He played for the Los Angeles Rams in 2022, the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023 and rounded things out with the Detroit Lions in 2024.

Robinson campaigned for a spot on an NFL roster last year, specifically with the Kansas City Chiefs, but he ultimately went unsigned for the entirety of the 2025 season.

He told Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press last offseason that he was weighing retirement.

"I wanted to look back and have no regrets," Robinson said. "And that's kind of where I'm at with it is that I don't have (any). I've put everything I've had into this game."

Now, Robinson will head into retirement having put together a strong career that lasted more than a decade. He finished his time in the NFL with 7,058 receiving yards on 565 receptions with 43 touchdowns.
