Eight teams found themselves facing elimination at the Little League World Series in Williamsport on Monday, with only four teams set to advance on the bottom half of the bracket.

Canada def. Panama, 3-2

It took Canada and Panama into extra innings to score any runs. But boy was the seventh inning wild.

Led by RBI by Connor Matsuda, Connor Ross and Jason Mezzarobba, Canada put up three runs in the top of the seventh and held on for dear life in the bottom half of the frame, winning 3-2.

Panama got two back on Jeickot Sánchez's double and a wild pitch but managed to secure the win. Canadien starter Jacob Massel was masterful, giving up just two hits, three walks and no runs while striking out seven across five innings.

Canada's seventh-inning heroics spoiled an epic performance from Panama starter Obed Fuentes, who struck out 12 batters and didn't give up a hit in six innings.

Up next for Canada is a matchup against Asia-Pacific.

Great Lakes def. Southwest, 6-1

Led by Zach Hilton's two RBI and Walker Osborne's two runs, Great Lakes knocked out Southwest on Monday, 6-1.

Bob Frazier pitched 4.2 scoreless innings for Great Lakes, striking out four. Up next for Great Lakes is a matchup against the representative from Metro.

Japan def. Europe-Asia, 3-2

Yunosuke Yabe's pair of home runs and Takeru Yorozu's solo shot led Japan to a 3-2 victory over Europe-Asia on Monday.

The pair provided double duty on the mound, combining to strike out 13 batters while giving up just five hits and two runs.

Japan will now face Mexico as they look to stay alive in Williamsport.

Southeast def. Mid-Atlantic, 6-5

It took extra-inning drama, but Southeast overcame a 5-0 deficit and defeated Mid-Atlantic 6-5.

Mid-Atlantic looked like it was well on the way to victory when it jumped out to a 5-0 advantage behind a two-run homer from Cole Warner, but Southeast answered with five runs in the third inning.

That set the stage for two-way star Kinley Rasmus—who drove in one of the runs in the fifth—to take the mound. All she did was strike out six in 4.2 shutout innings in relief to keep the game tied into the seventh.

And that is when Brooks Cameron played the role of hero with the game-winning hit in the extra inning.
