Rose the Glitter-Breathing Dragon Revealed as New Mascot for WNBA's Portland Fire in Video, Photos
The Portland Fire unveiled their new mascot during Sunday's 105-100 loss to the Washington Mystics.
The organization hyped up the reveal by building a fake crater outside of Moda Center:
The otherworldly being that arrived on earth was Rose, the Glitter-Breathing Dragon:
"As the Fire returned to the court in 2026, Rose represents the Fire's spirit and relationship with Portland: passionate, unapologetic, and radiant," said Kimberly Veale, the Fire's senior vice president of marketing and communications. "She's a living modern force, embodying the vibe and self-assurance of a true Portland individualist that inspires us to truly flourish. As we get to know her, it's clear that she's got a little edge, a lot of personality, and after two decades waiting for her team to return, plenty of catching up to do."
Rose was unable to bring Portland any luck Sunday, and the Fire are on the brink of being eliminated from playoff contention. The game was a fabulous occasion nonetheless.
