The woman who went viral for losing items from her purse while celebrating a walk-off home run by Chicago White Sox catcher Jake Rogers on Friday met up with the veteran backstop and executed a trade on Sunday.

As seen in a post by the White Sox on X, Emma Rodriguez traded the home run ball to Rogers for what looks to be an autographed jersey and bat, plus another ball:

Rodriguez made a splash on social media Friday because the White Sox broadcast showed her jumping up and down with the home run ball in her hand, while items flew out of her purse:

She later took to X to show off the ball and to confirm that she was able to recover everything that fell out of her purse:

White Sox on-field reporter Brooke Fletcher followed up with a report that Rodriguez messaged Rogers on Instagram in hopes of getting the ball autographed, which led to their meeting and trade on Sunday since Rogers actually wanted the ball himself:

The home run was only the 48th of Rogers' MLB career and his first as a member of the White Sox.

After playing for the Detroit Tigers since 2019, the 31-year-old Rogers was traded to the Baltimore Orioles in July. He was then traded to the Boston Red Sox shortly thereafter and claimed off waivers by the White Sox this month.

Rogers hit the home run in only his sixth game as a member of the team, and it was a huge one give where the White Sox are in the standings.

Entering play on Sunday, Chicago leads the American League Central with a 67-62 record, placing it 3.5 games ahead of the second-place Cleveland Guardians.
