Bears Donate $200K to Support Illinois, Indiana Communities Affected by Severe Storms
The Chicago Bears announced Saturday that they are donating $200,000 to aid in recovery from severe storms and flooding that impacted the southern suburbs of Chicago and Northwest Indiana.
Donations will be split evenly with $100,000 going to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago and $100,000 being provided to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Gary.
The Bears noted that both organizations are "helping address immediate and ongoing needs in affected communities, including food, clothing, housing assistance and other recovery resources where many families remain without power, displaced from their homes and face a long rebuilding process."
According to ABC7 in Chicago, at least seven storm-related deaths were reported, and nearly 150,000 customers were still without power in Northwest Indiana as of last Sunday.
