Bills GM Brandon Beane Releases Statement on Death of Ed Oliver's Son
The Buffalo Bills announced Saturday that defensive lineman Ed Oliver is grieving the death of his son.
Bills general manager Brandon Beane released a statement on the matter, writing, "On behalf of the entire Buffalo Bills organization, we want to publicly express our condolences to Ed Oliver and his family on the devastating loss of his son. It's an unthinkable tragedy for any parent. We will continue to support Ed and his family as we all grieve this tragic loss."
Oliver's son was 2 years old at the time of his death, according to Lance Lysowski and Stephen T. Watson of the Buffalo News.
The 28-year-old Oliver was selected ninth overall by the Bills in the 2019 NFL draft out of the University of Houston.
Over seven campaigns and 95 regular-season games with the Bills, Oliver has recorded 30 sacks and 56 tackles for loss.
Ankle and biceps injuries limited Oliver to just three games last season, but he is expected to be a significant part of new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard's defense in 2026.
