Bijan Robinson Says He Watches Kyrie Irving, World Cup Star Videos to Improve Game

Perhaps nobody in the NFL uses elite footwork to dance through the defense better than Bijan Robinson, and the Atlanta Falcons running back may have learned some of those skills outside of the gridiron.

During an appearance on the Schultz Report with NFL insider Jordan Schultz (20-minute mark), Robinson revealed that he watches NBA and soccer highlights when studying some of that movement while mentioning Kyrie Irving and Michael Olise in particular.

"I watch a lot of basketball players and their movement skills," Robinson said after highlighting Irving's 2016 season in particular.

So what does he take from watching Irving?

"One is footwork. Like how he can maneuver in small spaces," Robinson said. "And then two, his body control. Like, he has exceptional body control."

It may not be the first comparison that comes to mind, but it is easy to see the parallels between Irving gliding through defenders and finishing through contact at the rim and Robinson unleashing devastating cutbacks and speed before powering through defenders at the goal line.

That 2016 season stands out, as Irving helped lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to the championship alongside LeBron James and hit one of the most famous shots in NBA history in Game 7 of the Finals to propel the Eastern Conference team to a win over the Golden State Warriors.

As for Olise, Robinson admired "how he moves through the middle" of the defense while dazzling on the field for France.

All Olise did this summer was lead the World Cup with seven assists while helping France reach the semifinals alongside Kylian Mbappรฉ.

Now Robinson will look to help guide the Falcons to a similar stage while studying the footwork of some of his contemporaries in other sports.
