Tri-State Showdown Headlines Friday's Slate

The home state team in this year's tournament, East Side Little League from West Chester, will take to the diamond when they square off with New Jersey's Bayonne Little League squad Friday night on ESPN.

It will be the de facto home team's first appearance in this year's event, while Bayonne stunned viewers on Wednesday with a walk-off home run by Mason Rincon for the dramatic victory.

Pitcher Cole Warner is the East Side's most complete player, with an ability sit down opposing batters thanks to his arm power while also contributing at the plate with a powerful swing.

He and the rest of East Side's strong starting rotation will look to win Pennsylvania its first Little League World Series since Levittown accomplished the feat back in 1960.

Whether New Jersey has any more late-game heroics in it, or if the team will need them at all, remains to be seen and bears watching when the marquee match-up of the day takes to the diamond under the bright lights of Lamade Stadium.
