Manning, who wears the same No. 16 his father wore at Tennessee, is looking to put together a strong high school career and eventually reach the collegiate level, but it could be a while before he gets regular snaps.
He's currently serving as the backup quarterback to Keegan Croucher, aย 4-starย senior who is committed to Ole Miss.
Once Croucher leaves in the spring, Manning could have the reins to the Baylor offense as a sophomore.
Manning has the chance to continue the tremendous legacy of his family. His grandfather, Archie, played quarterback at Ole Miss before going on to have an NFL career that featured two Pro Bowl selections.
His father is one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, winning five MVPs, a pair of Super Bowls and countless other accolades before retiring in 2016.
Manning's uncle Eli also had a strong career, winning two Super Bowls and two Super Bowl MVPs. He retired in 2019.
The next generation of the Manning family features not only Marshall, but his cousin Arch, who is coming off a strong first season as Texas' starter and is an early favorite to win the Heisman Trophy and go first overall in next year's NFL draft.
It's safe to say Marshall has plenty of people in his circle who know how to succeed at a high level, but for now, he'll wait his turn as a backup.
