WWE Legend Dave Bautista Reportedly Lands Major 'God of War' Role After Ryan Hurst Injury
Dave Bautista is stepping into a major new role soon.
Per Variety's Joe Otterson, the actor and retired WWE legend will play Kratos in Amazon Prime's "God of War," a new TV series based on the video game franchise.
It was announced in January that Ryan Hurst would play Kratos in the show, but he suffered a torn bicep on set that required surgery. Had he stayed in the role, production would have been delayed into 2027.

The show began filming in February but had to pause after Hurst's injury. With Bautista now locked into the role, it can begin filming again. The shots that had Hurst in them will have to be reshot with Bautista.
Bautista makes sense for the role given his massive stature as a former WWE star, though it's worth noting he dropped 75 pounds for his role in Knock at the Cabin. Still, his casting should have fans of "God of War" excited.
