What Can I Do for You?

Zachary OstermanSep 14, 2009

(Paul Johnson is pondering that question, clearly)

Hey folks,

It seems I never quite properly introduced myself.

And as I'm not one to enjoy getting caught up in the tailspin of pregame prognostication and self-important rambling, I thought I would take this time to tell you a little bit about myself and make you an offer.

First, the intro. My name is Zach Osterman, I recently graduated from Indiana University, where I covered IU men's basketball, among many other things. I've also done a stint covering the Washington Nationals with MLB.com and I'm now out in the working world, doing a couple of different gigs with a couple of different papers here in Indiana.

However, I was born and raised in Atlanta, and as much of my family went to Tech, I've been familiar with the Jackets pretty much my whole life.

I'll be putting on my objectivity hat for the purposes of our many (and hopefully lively) discussions here, as the good people at Bleacher Report have given me the opportunity to speak with y'all on a pretty regular basis here.

Now, on to the offer.

Essentially, what I would like to know is what you'd like to see/hear/read from me.

Obviously, I'm not a beat writer in the most traditional sense. I don't live in Atlanta or cover the team first-hand.

But I stay up on Georgia Tech through various media sources as much as I possibly can, if for no other reason than not to make a fool of myself.

What's more, there is a certain sense of freedom in operating the way Bleacher Report has set up for me here, and one of the many ways I want to keep this space dynamic is by making sure I bring you at least some of what you want and not just all what I want.

Obviously, I can't give you "Five Reasons Josh Nesbitt is Just Plain Awesome," at least not every week, but I'll be happy to accommodate something like it if you give me the chance.

So I pose the question: What would you like to read from me this season beyond the regular run-of-the-mill pregame and postgame and analysis of pertinent news?

Maybe it's a little more depth on player profiles. Maybe it's more recruiting focus. Maybe it's...well, there's a comments section below, you get the idea.

Just leave some notes, let me know. I really would like to be able to tailor at least a portion of all this fun to you, the reader, because without you, I would be devoid of this opportunity.

Again, no hard and fast promises other than I will consider all suggestions and try my best to do what I can.

To close, a shameless promotion: Check back tomorrow for a preview of the Georgia Tech-Miami game, which I will say right now looks like the toughest important game on Tech's slate this year.

Oh and P.S., the AJC says Jaybo Shaw's recovery is ahead of expectations. So there's something you probably wanted.
