Arsenal Transfer News: Latest on Grzegorz Krychowiak and Adrien Rabiot Rumours

Christopher SimpsonAug 14, 2015

Arsenal fans will likely be disappointed to learn the club are not pursuing the signature of Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak.

According to Stefan Coerts of Goal.com, boss Arsene Wenger said the following: "Are we interested in signing Krychowiak? No."

"

When you lose a game there is a demand to sign players. Let's look inside and not except [sic] a miracle from outside.

We have a great group with a fantastic mentality. We are united and we will focus together on the next game. One result does not affect our transfer plans. We are working hard on that.

"

While the Frenchman's reluctance to panic-buy is admirable, Arsenal are still in need of some outfield reinforcements, as the Guardian's Barney Ronay alluded to:

Krychowiak would represent a strong acquisition, one the Gunners sorely need.

The defensive midfielder would add the solidity and bite that Arsenal need to compete with their title rivals. WhoScored.com provided his key stats from last season:

BeIN Sports' David Cartlidge believes the Pole to be a standout player for Sevilla, while Squawka illustrated his ability to perform in big games:

More experienced than Francis Coquelin, Krychowiak would be an excellent signing for Arsenal.

Unfortunately for Gunners supporters, unless Wenger is keeping his cards close to his chest, it appears a move for the midfielder is off the table.

Paris Saint-Germain Midfielder "Offered" to Arsenal

According to Get French Football News (via Tom Olver of Metro), Foot 365 are reporting that Adrien Rabiot "has been offered to Arsenal" by "his agent and mother," Veronique Rabiot.

The 20-year-old made just 10 starts in Ligue 1 last season, scoring four times and assisting another.

Impressively, the midfielder won 57 per cent of his duels, including 34 tackles, 28 aerial battles and 22 successful take-ons, all while maintaining a passing accuracy of 89 per cent, according to Squawka.

WhoScored.com provided the rundown on the player's key skills:

With the 2016 UEFA European Championship looming on the horizon, Rabiot's desire for regular football is understandable, and his technical ability and physicality make him a strong all-rounder who would likely fit in well at the Emirates.

However, like with Krychowiak, it seems unlikely that Wenger will pursue the deal. Don't expect either to be donning an Arsenal shirt next season.
