An ankle injury to Olivia Miles dampened some of the enthusiasm after the Minnesota Lynx rookie delivered another strong performance in Wednesday's 77-66 win over the Golden State Valkyries.

Miles finished with 20 points, five, rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocks in 30 minutes of action. She exited in the fourth quarter after stepping on the foot of teammate Napheesa Collier.

"I don't have any idea where it's at," Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve told reporters regarding the severity of the ankle injury. "Obviously we're hoping she's OK."

Miles is the runaway favorite for Rookie of the Year. Through 35 games, she's averaging 19.5 points and 6.1 assists. She's also shooting 50.3 percent from the floor and 40.7 percent from beyond the arc.

The 5'10" playmaker is the biggest reason the Lynx have the league's best record (30-7) despite Collier being sidelined until mid-July. She has displayed a level of poise belying her rookie status.

Needless to say, Miles is a critical piece in Minnesota's quest to win a WNBA title. Collier hasn't missed a beat since returning to the court, but the on/off splits tell the story. The Lynx have been 7.9 points per possession worse with Miles on the bench, per WNBA.com.

The team is back in action Friday against the Washington Mystics and then hosts the Valkyries on Monday. Minnesota is afforded an even longer break before its next contest (Aug. 30 against the Atlanta Dream).

If Miles' injury is serious enough to take her out of the lineup, maybe she won't have to miss many games.
