New Jersey Walks It Off

The New England representative from Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and the Metro representative from Bayonne, New Jersey, delivered a pitcher's duel for the majority of Wednesday's marquee match-up.

Each team yielded just one run, with New Jersey capitalizing on a passed ball while Massachusetts' Anthony Sullivan obliterated the ball to tie the game.

Then came the sixth inning, where Bayonne's Mason Rincon blasted a home run to walk off the game.

It was a thrilling conclusion to the first day of Little League World Series action and one that set the bar for drama in this year's tournament very high.

Up next for New Jersey? Mid-Atlantic representative East Side LL from West Chester, Pennsylvania, the home-state favorite in this year's tournament, on Friday. Massachusetts will take to the diamond on Saturday, looking to stave off elimination against the loser of Thursday's Game 6.
