Shohei Ohtani's Dodgers Cleats From 2025 Tokyo Series Sell for Record, Joins Jordan, Kobe in History
A pair of Shohei Ohtani's cleats made history on Wednesday.
The New Balance cleats Ohtani wore for the 2025 Tokyo Series sold for $440,055, making a new record for the highest-selling baseball cleat ever. Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are the only other athletes to have a pair of shoes sell for more than $300,000.

The high price isn't all that surprising given Ohtani's star power. The Los Angeles Dodgers star is one of the most popular athletes of all time, gaining recognition both in the United States and around the world.
The particular cleats that sold this week are extra special since they have his rare Japanese Kanji signature and feature images of his dog, Decoy. He also wore them in his first MLB game in Japan.
Ohtani is well on his way to establishing himself as one of the greatest baseball players ever, so the cleats sold Wednesday should be worth even more in a few years.
