Shedeur Sanders Doesn't Feel 'Pressure' for Bills Preseason Game Amid Watson, Browns QB Competition

After coming on in relief of Deshaun Watson in the Cleveland Browns' preseason opener, Shedeur Sanders will get the chance to showcase his starting bonafides on Saturday when he works with the ones against the Buffalo Bills.

Speaking to reporters after Wednesday's practice, Sanders explained he doesn't feel any "pressure" to perform against the Bills as the Browns coaching staff continues to evaluate their quarterbacks to determine the Week 1 starter:

"I'll say every day of my life's important. Every day's important. I want to say it's [not] a day that's not important. So that's just another day going out there doing what I got to do, honestly. I don't really feel anxiety or any pressure going into things like that anymore, because that's how I approach everything. So, it's just another day of going to work. That's all it is for me."

Browns head coach Todd Monken has outlined the quarterback plan as the competition between Watson and Sanders continues.

Watson played the entire first half on Saturday against the Chicago Bears. He finished 11-of-15 for 126 yards, was sacked once and lost a fumble.

In six offensive possessions with Watson, the Browns had two scoring drives, went three-and-out three times and turned the ball over once on his fumble.

The touchdown drive went 81 yards on 10 plays with the big gainer being a 43-yard screen pass to Dylan Sampson.

Sanders played the first three offensive possessions in the second half. He finished 6-of-11 for 79 yards with no touchdowns, one interceptions and didn't get sacked.

The results for Cleveland's offense on those drives was a turnover on downs, punt and interception.

It's hard to know how much to take away from Sanders' showing against the Bears because he was working primarily with backups at that point.

Saturday will likely provide a much better indication of where Sanders is at heading into his second season.

Monken has been coy about when he intends to name a Week 1 starter, but he would presumably like some clarity coming out of the matchup with the Bills because there are only five days until the Browns' final preseason game on Aug. 27.

Cleveland will open the regular season on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 13.
