Latest 2026 NFL Free Agents Rumors, Predictions for Adoree' Jackson, Taylor Decker, More
While August always brings training camps and the NFL preseason, it usually brings an active final wave of free agency, too. Teams regularly scramble to address needs ahead of Week 1, as the top remaining free agents have had all summer to narrow their options.
Things have certainly been active this August, as the list of notable names who have been signed includes Jadevon Clowney, Stefon Diggs, Von Miller, Za'Darius Smith, and Keenan Allen.
While there has been a recent flurry of free-agent activity, the player pool hasn't dried up just yet. Here, we'll examine some of the biggest remaining names and latest rumors before making a few predictions.
Cowboys Looking for CB Depth, Could Eye Adoree' Jackson

The Dallas Cowboys have made a few splashes this offseason, and they made another when they signed Miller to bolster their pass rush. It appears, though, that Dallas isn't done improving its defense.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys are searching for additional cornerback depth and could target a veteran with coaching ties.
"One name to watch is Adoree Jackson, who was with DC Christian Parker in Philadelphia. Jackson has interest from a few teams, though," Fowler posted on X.
The Cowboys are circling back to a defender they targeted in the spring. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that Jackson was visiting Dallas in May. The 30-year-old spent last season with the rival Philadelphia Eagles after spending the previous four with the New York Giants.
Dallas is likely to continue weighing options, and Jackson reportedly has interest from multiple teams. However, the prediction here is that Jackson opts for familiarity and stays in the NFC East.
Prediction: Dallas signs Jackson to a one-year deal.
Seahawks Sign Trevon Diggs, Expected to Add Terrion Arnold

Dallas' search for cornerback depth won't include one former starter.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a one-year deal with former Pro Bowler Trevon Diggs. The 27-year-old hasn't been the same standout defender since suffering a torn ACL in 2023. The Cowboys released him partway through last season, and he briefly joined the Green Bay Packers at the end of the year.
It's worth noting that Seattle may only view Diggs as a placeholder or insurance policy. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, the Seahawks plan to sign former Detroit Lions starter Terrion Arnold, though it could take "a while."
Arnold faces eight felony charges related to a February kidnapping and robbery in Tampa, Florida. According to Rapoport and Garafolo, he'll be placed on the NFL commissioner's exempt list while the league looks into his case. With Diggs in the fold, Seattle should be in no rush to sign Arnold.
Prediction: Arnold remains unsigned through August 30 roster cuts.
Taylor Decker Remains Unsigned Months After Being Granted His Release

Arnold isn't the only noteworthy player who has been released by the Lions this offseason. Longtime starting left tackle Taylor Decker requested his release and was granted it in early March.
More than five months later, Decker remains unsigned.
Decker, who was graded 41st overall among offensive tackles by Pro Football Focus last season, is arguably the top lineman still available. After getting out of Detroit, he's likely looking for a more intriguing opportunity. Theoretically, he could find it with the Washington Commanders, who have lost Laremy Tunsil to a torn triceps.
According to Fowler, though, Washington plans to rely on its internal depth to navigate Tunsil's absence.
Could the Commanders' plan change after evaluating their depth in the preseason? Absolutely, and other opportunities could arise for Decker as other teams evaluate what they have up front. Don't be surprised if Decker continues waiting for his perfect fit.
Prediction: Decker remains unsigned until after August 30 roster cuts.
Saints Consider Chase Claypool, Josh Reynolds

Injuries are an unfortunate part of the NFL summer. Like the Commanders, the New Orleans Saints are dealing with one. Rookie first-round pick Jordyn Tyson is battling a right hamstring injury that could cause him to miss up to two months, according to Rapoport and Garafolo.
According to Schefter, New Orleans has kicked the tires on Chase Claypool and Hosh Reynolds as potential placeholders:
Claypool had a couple of promising seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers early in his career but hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since 2023. He attempted a comeback earlier this offseason as a tryout player at Green Bay Packers rookie minicamp.
Reynolds appeared in five games last season with the New York Jets. While neither receiver is likely to make a significant impact for the Saints, Reynolds is probably the more game-ready option.
Prediction: The Saints sign Reynolds, potentially moving him to the practice squad after August 30.
