The Los Angeles Chargers received a visit from the injury bug and lost one of their key players in Tuesday's joint practice with the San Francisco 49ers.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Chargers center Tyler Biadasz suffered damage to his ACL and additional injuries to his knee, ruling him out indefinitely. He reportedly will meet with more doctors to gain further clarity on the extent of his injuries.

Joaquin Ruizย of theย Los Angeles Times reported that Biadasz "went down hard after 49ers defensive tackle Sebastian Valdez fell on his left leg during an 11-on-11 drill." The 28-year-old was unable to put weight on his left leg and looked "visibly upset" as he was carted off the field.

In addition to Biadasz going down, Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston limped off after making a leaping catch, and trainers appeared to be evaluating him for a lower-body injury. Outside linebacker Kyle Kennard also exited practice early after limping off the field.

Training camp has been far from kind to the Chargers in recent years. Last summer, two-time Pro Bowl left tackle Rashawn Slater suffered a torn patellar tendon during practice that forced him to miss the entire 2025 season.

Biadasz began his career with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020 and earned his lone Pro Bowl selection in 2022. He spent the last two seasons with the Washington Commanders before signing with the Chargers on a three-year, $30 million contract in March.

Ruiz noted that Biadasz was replaced in Tuesday's practice by rookie offensive lineman Jake Slaughter, who had previously been competing for the starting left guard position. The Chargers will try to get used to Biadasz's impending absence when they face the 49ers in Thursday night's preseason game.
