Brewers Ace Jacob Misiorowski Explains Exactly What It Feels Like to Throw 100 mph Pitch

Scott PolacekAug 17, 2026

Batters whiffing at Jacob Misiorowski's pitches are nothing new, especially during the 2026 season.

But that's not the only whiff involved when the Milwaukee Brewers ace unleashes a 100 mph fastball.

"You can feel a nice little whiff," Misiorowski said when describing what it is like to throw a fastball in the triple digits. "You can hear it. It kind of zings a little bit."

The right-hander has taken the league by storm this season with his velocity. According to Baseball Savant, he has thrown 224 pitches at 100 mph or higher this season alone with seven of them checking in at 104 mph or higher.

Two of the pitches went 104.5 mph, which Adam McCalvy of MLB.com noted was the fastest pitch from a starting pitcher since pitch tracking started in 2008. His first 104.5 mph pitch came in a victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on June 12 that underscored just how unhittable he has been this year.

Misiorowski struck out 15 and allowed a single hit during that 6-0 victory.

Brewers fans are surely dreaming of the 24-year-old, who has a 1.75 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 210 strikeouts in 139 innings, leading their team to a World Series title in October with all these unhittable fastballs.

For now, he will continue generating all those whiffs as the National League Central leaders close in on the playoffs.
