Paul Comments After Surgery

Thursday, Aug. 20

Paul took to Instagram to update fans on his condition after undergoing surgery on his injured ankle:

On Aug. 13, Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Washington reported Paul went down and was carted off the field. According to ESPN's John Keim, Washington's medical staff also placed his ankle in an air cast.

Mark Bullock of the Washington Post shared a few images of Paul's leg turning awkwardly (caution: tweet is graphic in nature):

Washington penciled Paul in as the starting tight end to start the preseason. However, the team will look to Jordan Reed to assume the starting role.

Although he has looked good at times over the last two years, Reed has played in just 20 regular-season games since getting drafted in 2013. Reed has flashed upside in the past, but losing Paul for the season is a blow to the Redskins passing attack.
