Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was happy to see the Atlanta Dream's series of last-minute shot attempts come up short in regulation.

Rhyne Howard, Angel Reese and Naz Hillmon all missed the mark inside the final seconds with the score tied at 81-81. The broadcast caught Clark smiling as she walked toward the Fever bench after the buzzer sounded.

Indiana eventually won 95-91 in overtime.

"It happens," Dream star Allisha Gray said of Reese's bad luck at the rim. "We know any other time, Angel will make the shot. She knows she'll make the shot. In that moment, you've just got to encourage your teammates."

Reese put up another double-double (15 points and 14 rebounds), but her off-target layup summed up her afternoon. She finished 5-of-16 from the floor and was held scoreless in the fourth quarter.

The three-time All-Star wasn't the only Atlanta player who struggled to find her stroke. The Dream shot 35.3 percent overall as a team and went 8-of-32 from beyond the arc.

Karl Smesko's squad will rue its missed opportunities to close out what could be an important win in the WNBA standings.

The Fever now sit fourth and have a 1.5-game cushion on the Dream, and Sunday's outcome may play a decisive role in where they both finish.

Indiana is really finding its groove. The team has won four games in a row and 12 of its last 16 since the start of July.

Coach Stephanie White has had to combat some jeers from her own fans, but she might have her players peaking at the right time.
