Jayden Daniels Praised by Commanders' Dan Quinn Amid QB's LSU No. 5 Jersey Dispute

Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn didn't have many thoughts about Jayden Daniels' situation with LSU, but he did have nothing but positive things to say about the quarterback's play in training camp.

"I haven't followed it a lot," Quinn told reporters. "I know he addressed it …. I thought that was on point. But for him, the things that I see are just like quintessential Jayden in terms of the camp and what it looks like and where he's at."

His comments come after a representative for Daniels sent a cease-and-desist letter to LSU saying the school cannot use his name, image and likeness because it allowed cornerback D.J. Pickett to wear No. 5.

While the Tigers have not officially retired No. 5, nobody has worn it since Daniels' departure.

Daniels won the Heisman Trophy during his time with the SEC program.

For his part, the Commanders quarterback released a statement that said, "I have been locked in on training camp and that's been my number one focus. … Obviously there are issues to be worked out between my team and LSU and my hope is that it will get done privately."

Daniels is focused on training camp ahead of what will be his third season in the NFL.

Washington starts the campaign on Sept. 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
