Cowboys' Camden Brown Reacts to Highlight TD Catches, 'When the Ball is in the Air, It's Mine'

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Camden Brown isn't lacking in confidence as he tries to earn a roster spot heading into the 2026 NFL season.

The undrafted rookie caught three passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 17-7 preseason win over the Seattle Seahawks. He held off Seahawks cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles to haul in the first touchdown grab, and his second saw him bring down a pass from Joe Milton III with one hand.

"When the ball is in the air, it's mine," Brown said, per The Athletic's Jon Machota. "That's always been the mindset from Georgia Southern to Auburn. Just having that mentality because I feel like just playing football in general is having the right mentality. … I feel like I get to prove people wrong again. That's just who I am. That's been my whole life story."

Saturday was an eye-opener for fans who haven't been getting daily updates from Dallas' training camp. Those on the ground witnessed more of what Brown was already doing on the practice field.

"The game is not too big for him," Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said. "He does that every day in practice. We see it all the time. … What I love about him is he does the little things, too. You watch him on special teams drills, one-on-one drills and things like that; he realizes that's how you make this football team when you got a receiver room that's filled with George Pickens, CeeDee Lamb, Ryan Flournoy and people like that. That stuff matters."

Brown had a relatively nondescript college career.

In three years at Auburn, he had just 289 receiving yards. Transferring to Georgia Southern in 2025 allowed the 6'2" pass-catcher to occupy a bigger role, and he responded with 1,079 yards and the most touchdown receptions (14) of any Sun Belt player.

Still, Brown didn't crack the top 300 on Bleacher Report's final big board for the 2026 NFL draft, and the draft unfolded without his name getting called.

Given that context, simply making the roster would be an impressive achievement, but it doesn't appear Brown is satisfied with simply making up the numbers. He'll certainly be a name to watch in Dallas' two remaining preseason clashes.
