Dodgers' Mookie Betts Says You 'Close Your Eyes and Swing' When Facing Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski

Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts doesn't have a specific approach when facing Milwaukee Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski.

"I don't know, I'm not sure you really do," Betts told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic (0:49 mark). "You maybe just close your eyes and swing. When a guy's sitting 102, 104, really good command and a really good mound presence it's tough to do. But we've gotta get in the box and it's gotta come over the plate, so we've gotta prepare and figure out how to do it."

Misiorowski is in the midst of a dominant 2026 campaign, leading the majors with a 1.76 ERA and 0.737 WHIP through 22 starts. He's also racked up 204 strikeouts across that span.

His average speed of 100.6 miles per hour on his four-seam fastball ranks No. 1 among all starting pitchers (via Statcast).

Betts has fared better than most batters against Misiorowski in his career, as the eight-time All-Star was 1-for-3 with one strikeout in three total plate appearances when facing the right-hander heading into Saturday's action.

The Brewers and Dodgers are currently battling for the No. 1 spot in the National League standings, as Milwaukee owns a 75-48 record while Los Angeles sits at 74-49.
