Rookie quarterbacks Ty Simpson and Garrett Nussmeier impressed in Saturday's preseason action between the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs.

Stetson Bennett IV started for the Rams and Justin Fields started for the Chiefs before Simpson and Nussmeier made their respective NFL debuts.

Here's a look at each quarterback's final stat line from the Ram's 20-12 win on Saturday in Kansas City.

Stetson Bennett IV (LAR)4/638000
Garrett Nussmeier (KC)13/1998002
Justin Fields (KC)4/441000

Fields started out the game for the Chiefs, completing all four of his passes on two drives that both ended in punts.

Nussmeier came in during the second quarter and quickly impressed with his ability to find his targets on the move.

Nussmeier also attempted a 94-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter that appeared to hit on target but was dropped by Jason Brownlee.

Bennett started for the Rams, completing four of six pass attempts and leading the team into range of a 25-yard field goal in the first quarter.

Simpson came in for the second quarter and started out his NFL debut by completing a 23-yard pass on his first snap.

Simpson capped off his debut by connecting with Dean Connors for back-to-back passing touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Simpson, selected by the Rams with the No. 13 pick in the 2026 draft, is competing with Stetson to back up Matthew Stafford while looking to establish himself as a potential future starter for the Rams.

Nussmeier, a seventh-round pick in 2026, is in a similar competition with Fields to play behind Patrick Mahomes. Whichever quarterback wins the Chiefs' competition could potentially see playing time early this season if Mahomes is not able to return from last December's ACL surgery in time for Week 1.

All four quarterbacks should see more playing time when the preseason continues next week.

The Rams are set to face the New Orleans Saints next Saturday, the same day the Chiefs travel to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
