Damar Hamlin Reunites with Trainer Who Helped Save His Life with CPR in Video from NFL Preseason

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin reunited with the trainer who provided life-saving aid during his cardiac arrest in 2023.

Prior to Saturday's 29-14 win over the Carolina Panthers, Hamlin embraced Denny Kellington on the field.

Kellington, the vice president for player health and performance with Carolina, was a trainer for the Bills and performed CPR on Hamlin after he collapsed in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaking with Good Morning America's Michael Strahan weeks later, Hamlin said that "I owe Denny my life."

"Literally. He loves to say he was just doing his job, which is true, you know?" Hamlin said. "And that night, he was literally the savior of my life."

At the ESPYs later that year, he presented Kellington and other Bills trainers with the Pat Tillman Award for Service.

Kellington accepted a job with the Panthers ahead of the 2025 season. That put him and Hamlin on opposite sides as Carolina hosted the Bills for a 40-9 loss in Week 8 last year.

Hamlin was sidelined for that contest after suffering a season-ending pectoral injury.
