Caitlin Clark Makes WNBA History as Fastest Star to Epic Milestone in Win vs. Paige Bueckers, Wings

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark wrote her name into the WNBA history books again during Friday's 98-87 win over the Dallas Wings.

The third-year guard dished out 10 assists, surpassing 700 for her career. No WNBA player has ever hit that benchmark in as few games (83).

Clark also scored a team-high 29 points, earning another statistical distinction.

More important than her assist tally was the fact the three-time All-Star only had one turnover.

Clark is leading the league with 4.6 turnovers per game, and no player has more than 3.6. This remains a weaker point in her game, though she's making continued improvement.

"She's like a maestro, the way that she really runs our offense," Fever coach Stephanie White told reporters after the game. "I think when we're at our best, she is instructing, she is running it much like a show, and it's tough to match up with us when she's commanding the floor like that."

White has come under pressure from some fans, but Indiana now sits fourth in the standings at 21-12. The Fever are hitting their stride, having won 10 of their last 13.

Clark, meanwhile, is setting personal bests in points (21.9) and field-goal percentage (45.0) while notching eight-plus assists for the third successive season.

The MVP race appears to be pretty settled with the Las Vegas Aces' A'ja Wilson standing head and shoulders above the rest. Clark is at least turning the corner, and Indiana is shaping up to be a serious contender as a result.
