'Maestro' Caitlin Clark Hyped by Stephanie White After Fever's Win vs. Paige Bueckers, Fudd, Wings

After recording her third straight double-double to lead the Indiana Fever to their third consecutive win, Caitlin Clark received high praise from head coach Stephanie White.

Following the Fever's 98-87 victory over the Dallas Wings, White described Clark as a "maestro" for how she runs the offense.

"She's like a maestro, the way that she really runs our offense," White told reporters. "I think when we're at our best, she is instructing, she is running it much like a show, and it's tough to match up with us when she's commanding the floor like that."

Clark finished with 29 points and 10 assists in 34 minutes. She was also efficient with just one turnover and shooting 11-of-18 from the field, tying her season-high field-goal percentage (.611) in a game with at least 15 shot attempts.

The Fever outscored Dallas 35-21 in the fourth quarter after trailing by three at the end of the third period to win for the eighth time in their last 10 games.

"We really kind of just pushed through and pushed through and pushed through," Clark said about the surge late in the game. "It felt like we were just like waiting for the moment to unleash, and I felt like that's what we kind of got in the fourth quarter."

This recent hot stretch for the Fever, perhaps not coincidentally, has come during Clark's best run of the season. She has one triple-double and six double-doubles in seven games since July 17 after recording four double-doubles in the previous 20 games.

Clark is averaging 26.3 points on 50.6 percent shooting (42.5 percent from three) and 9.4 assists per game in the last 10 games.

Indiana (22-12) has climbed into sole possession of fourth place in the playoff standings with 10 games remaining in the regular season.

A difficult closing stretch with six games against teams currently in playoff position, including back-to-back matchups with the Minnesota Lynx on Sept. 22 and 24 to close the season, will provide a nice test for where Clark and the Fever stand in the WNBA hierarchy right now.

Next up is a showdown with Clark's longtime rival Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream on Sunday at State Farm Arena. The Dream have won two of three head-to-head matchups with Indiana this season.
