Cade Klubnik Impresses, Final Box Score Stats & Highlights from Bucs vs. Jets

New York Jets rookie quarterback Cade Klubnik impressed on Friday in his NFL preseason debut, completing 5-of-7 passes for 56 yards against the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers over two drives.

The former Clemson star started the game after QB1 Geno Smith was ruled out due to foot soreness. Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, this was a precautionary measure, and Smith would have played if this wasn't a preseason matchup.

Klubnik went 4-of-6 for 51 yards on the Jets' first drive, which went 65 yards over 12 plays and ended with Cade York's 27-yard field goal.

On 3rd-and-8, Klubnik found Garrett Wilson for 21 yards downfield to give the Jets a first down at the Bucs' 39-yard line.

Klubnik remained on the field for the Jets' next drive, which started with the signal-caller finding wide receiver Omar Cooper for five yards. Running back Braelon Allen then took over with three rushes for 43 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown run.

Bailey Zappe took over for Klubnik on the Jets' third drive, ending the rookie's night.

Fans didn't get a huge sample size of Klubnik's work, but he did well all things considered. Here's a quick look at some reaction.

The Jets' next preseason game is Friday, Aug. 21 at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
