Mackenzie Dern Beats Gillian Robertson, Stats, Prize Money & Highlights from UFC 330

Mackenzie Dern solidified herself as the UFC's strawweight champion with a unanimous decision win over Gillian Robertson in the UFC 330 co-main event from Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

The two grapplers spent the better part of the first round exchanging strikes. Dern's sharper boxing stood out and she landed a few knees in the clinch as well. 

Dern was the better grappler in the first frame as well. She locked in a rear-naked choke that appeared to be locked in, but Robertson was saved by the bell. 

Unfortunately for Robertson, that was just foreshadowing for the second round. Dern was once again the aggressor and spent most of the round hunting for submissions while Robertson was on the defensive. 

Robertson was able to have some moments in the third round, but Dern was mostly able to dictate the terms of the fight with her boxing and jiu-jitsu. 

For all the good things that Dern did throughout the fight, she went into cruise control in the final round. Robertson had some of her best moments in the final period, but it was too little, too late, as the champion easily took the decision.

The 33-year-old Dern took a major step towards answering questions about her legitimacy as champion with this win. She grabbed the vacant belt with a win over Virna Jandiroba.

Zhang Weili, the longtime champion of the division, vacated the belt in 2025 to move up to flyweight.

Zhang's bid to win a belt at 125 came up short against Valentina Shevchenko and now the former champion looms large over the division she once ruled.

Dern has acknowledged that a matchup with Zhang feels inevitable. It's the biggest fight the division could make right now and the best way for Dern to really feel like the ruler of the division.

"For me, it would just be an honor, and I'd really like to test myself," she told media of the potential matchup. "It would be amazing to beat her, but if I have six more months or however many title fights I can get in and just get better and better and be more prepared to fight her, I'm excited for that."

Dern now has a five-fight win streak punctuated with wins over Robertson, Jandiroba and Amanda Ribas.

Meanwhile, Zhang hasn't fought since her November 2025 loss to Shevchenko. A return fight against Dern would settle the debate about who the real champion is for good.
