Joe Burrow Shares Epic Story About Dohnte Meyers amid WR's Breakout Training Camp with Bengals

After leading the team in receiving yards in the Cincinnati Bengals' 16-14 preseason win over the Detroit Lions on Thursday night, journeyman wide receiver Dohnte Meyers got a public stamp of approval from superstar quarterback Joe Burrow.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Burrow told a story about Meyers going to great lengths to get some work in with him before training camp:

"The week before training camp, I texted him, I was like, 'Hey, are you in town?' He's like, 'I can be,'" Burrow said. "And I was like, 'Can you be here tomorrow at 11?' He's like, 'Yeah.' I come to find out he drove from Atlanta that night to be there to throw the next day. That's the kind of guy that he is."

In addition to leading the team with three catches for 29 yards on Thursday, Meyers has turned heads at training camp.

Meyers played college football at Division II Delta State, and before getting an opportunity with the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2024, he spent 2023 being a DoorDash driver, per Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic.

All of that has made Meyers a sentimental favorite among fans, and it is clear that he has the support of his QB in his quest to make the Bengals' roster.
