Predicting Roman Reigns' WWE Matches For the Rest of 2026

Now that Roman Reigns has solidified his dominance as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, new challenges lie ahead.

The Tribal Chief earned a major milestone win over CM Punk at WrestleMania 42. His second Royal Rumble victory and triumph over a purported obstacle to his early success were not just the most recent accolades on his journey to greatness.

These accomplishments have helped silence critics who believed he couldn't win on his own after his historic reign as the undisputed champion. Additionally, the second-generation star triumphed over his friend-turned-rival, Seth Rollins, effectively putting to rest the memories of Rollins' betrayal.

Reigns had to conquer both Punk and Rollins to fully distance himself from his past persona as "The Big Dog." The pressure, expectations, and vitriol that come with being the top guy have molded him into the Superstar he is today.

Regardless of your personal opinions about him, he has cemented his legacy as the most prominent Superstar of his era. This raises the question: what's next for The Tribal Chief for the rest of 2026?

Penta

AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio recently announced an eight-man tournament to determine the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The winner from this impressive group of luchadors will have the opportunity to challenge Reigns in Mexico City during the Sept. 14 episode of Raw. This is a fantastic way to showcase the best wrestlers that AAA has to offer, but Penta is the frontrunner to win.

After all, the former Intercontinental champion is the hottest star in the bracket. On Monday, Penta defeated Laredo Kid to advance to the next round, where he will face Psycho Clown or La Parka.

Another win could put him on a collision course with his brother and former tag team partner, Rey Fénix, in the finals. Nevertheless, Penta vs. Reigns is a fitting marquee matchup for the OTC's first title defense on WWE flagship series this year.

LA Knight

After LA Knight confronted him on the latest edition of Raw, he became the obvious choice for Reigns' next opponent. Tension has existed between the two since their 2023 world title feud on SmackDown.

The Samoan star successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Knight at Crown Jewel with the help of Jimmy Uso. The self-proclaimed Megastar earned a rematch in the fatal four-way at Royal Rumble the following year, which Reigns pinned AJ Styles to win.

Knight has since re-ignited his feud with The Bloodline on Raw, insisting that The Tribal Chief has never beaten him fair and square. His grievances also echo Punk and Rollins' sentiments that they had to fight hard to reach the main event scene, while Reigns was handpicked for his position.

Even more, he believes the fans connect more with his struggle and natural charisma than they did with Reigns early in his career. This aligns with his current character arc and the prevalent narrative that The OTC has sought to debunk all year.

The Bloodline vs. Everyone

An iteration of The Bloodline has participated in the annual WarGames three of the last four years since WWE added the stipulation to the Survivor Series card. The faction is set to re-enter the steel cage in 2026.

Solo Sikoa has been incredibly entertaining on his own. However, Jey Uso defeated him in the latest main event of Raw, forcing him to rejoin the family business.

That would give The Bloodline five members again, making them the right size for a WarGames team. This is the only logical reason to re-add Sikoa to the group, when he was starting to stand out as a singles competitor.

An opposing team featuring Knight and Royce Keyes makes the most sense as they've been feuding for the last few weeks. This could also lead to Drew McIntyre's return because no one hates the Bloodline more than he does.

The Scottish Warrior has been on a hiatus to film a movie since his loss to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42. If Knight is looking for another ally, McIntyre would be ideal.

Oba Femi

WWE has earmarked Oba Femi as the future of the company following his trilogy matches with Brock Lesnar. The 2026 King of the Ring winner controversially put his title shot on hold to end this conflict with The Beast Incarnate.

Now, everyone is curious about when he will seize his opportunity to challenge the biggest dog in the yard. Reigns vs. The Ruler is a match fit for The Grandest Stage of Them All, but it's hard to believe the company would wait until April.

Femi's recent interactions with Bron Breakker were awesome, but WWE should strike while the iron is hot. Money in the Bank is the perfect venue for their match, as the winner of the men's ladder match could attempt to interfere.

Imagine if Breakker pulled a page from Rollins' playbook, claimed the briefcase, and used it to steal Femi's moment. That would be an excellent way to put him back on track to become a main eventer and effectively set up a rematch for Reigns and Femi at WrestleMania 43.
