Angel Reese's Final Box Score Stats, Highlights as Dream Beat Sun

Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream delivered the Connecticut Sun a dominating 104-69 victory on the road Thursday.

The Dream moved into first place in the Eastern Conference at 21-12, ahead of the Indiana Fever, while riding a two-game winning streak. The Sun remained in last place, falling to 8-24 and on the brink of playoff elimination.

Winning eight of its last nine games behind a dominant stretch from Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard, the Dream are shooting for a top playoff spot, moving past the Fever into fourth in the league standings, six games behind the Minnesota Lynx.

Howard and Gray led the team to the decisive victory Thursday, each scoring 29 points. Howard did so on 70 percent shooting from the field, while Gray shot 62 percent. Howard also added three steals and a block in the win.

Reese finished with a near double-double, scoring eight points and grabbing 15 rebounds. She stepped up big on the defensive end with three steals and four blocks.

Brittney Griner struggled in the second half after nearly finishing with a double-double in the first half, finishing the game with seven points on 3-of-9 shooting, along with eight rebounds and two blocks.

Aaliyah Edwards led the team off the bench with 15 points on 55 percent shooting, adding a steal and a block, while Leila Lacan led the team with three blocks.

Howard led the Dream at halftime with 23 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, going a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. She also added three assists and three steals, while Gray had 13 points.

Griner neared a double-double at the break for the Sun with seven points and seven rebounds, while Leger-Walker added eight points as the Sun trailed 51-32.

After three quarters, the Dream took a commanding 30-point lead behind another big quarter from Gray, who scored eight points as the Dream outscored the Sun 30-19.

A Jordin Canada 3-pointer extended the Dream's lead to 36 points with just under 4:45 remaining, prompting head coach Karl Smesko to pull his starters with the game secured.

Reese and the Dream will face a much-anticipated matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Sunday at home. The Dream hold a 2-1 series advantage heading into the matchup.
