Fantasy Football 2026 Mock Draft, Top Team Names and League Names
The first official week of NFL preseason action is underway. For fantasy enthusiasts, this means that the start of the 2026 draft season is also here.
In the coming weeks, fantasy managers will watch exhibition games, track practice reports, and dive into all of the available data and trends to best evaluate players for their fantasy drafts. Along the way, many of them will keep their eyes and ears open for that perfect team or league name.
Here, you'll find some suggestions for fantasy league and team names, along with analysis for a two-round, point-per-reception (PPR) mock draft conducted with FantasyPros' Mock Draft Simulator.

Mock Draft Analysis
2 of 4.jpg?w=2560)
There are no unusual trends in this mock draft, aside from the fact that two running backs kicked things off. We've become accustomed to seeing high-volume receivers like Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Ja'Marr Chase lead off PPR drafts, but there's a reason why Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs are being heavily coveted this year.
There simply aren't many every-down backs left in the NFL, and finding clear-cut RB1s after the first couple of rounds will be extremely difficult.
It is interesting to see Christian McCaffrey trending as a mid-first-round pick. He didn't have a particularly efficient (3.9 yards per carry) 2025 season, though he still topped 2,100 scrimmage yards. He's also missed some practice time, though San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has downplayed things.
"My concern would be him toughing through tightness, like a lot of people do, and then hurting something bad, and then pulling something, which then, it could be a month," Shanahan said, per David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com.
It sounds as if San Francisco is simply being cautious, but when a 30-year-old back with a long injury history misses time, it's noteworthy.
It was also interesting to see Justin Jefferson going near the end of Round 1. The Minnesota Vikings star had a down year in 2025 due to poor quarterback play, but with Kyler Murray being named the starter, he should be on the upswing again.
Round 2 also largely lacked surprises. However, it is a bit surprising to see A.J. Brown going so highly entering his first season with the New England Patriots. The change of scenery should help, but he finished as WR11 last season and was drafted as WR8 here. The difference isn't massive, but it's fair to wonder if a high-volume RB like James Cook or De'Von Achane would provide more value at the top of Round 2.
Again, managers should expect a pretty significant run on ball-carriers in 2026.
Managers should also keep tabs on New York Giants receiver Malik Nabers, who went 18th overall in this mock despite coming off a torn ACL. He may be close to 100 percent to start the season, but the team said this week that the earliest he'll even return for 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills will be Monday.
