Jordan Love Hails Aaron Rodgers, Says He Has 'Big Shoes to Fill' Ahead of Packers-Steelers Preseason

When Jordan Love took over as the Green Bay Packers' starting quarterback, he was taking over for future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers.

With Rodgers gearing up for his final NFL season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Love reflected on playing behind Rodgers and eventually taking over after he left in 2023.

"I've mentioned it time and time again: I have nothing but great things to say about A-Rod and my time being behind him and watching him, how much I was able to develop and grow in my process seeing him," Love told reporters. "The transition—I think for the organization, that's something that's never easy, and for the players, it's not something that's ever easy, either. For a guy that's been here that long and done so many great things, those are big shoes to fill. For me, I try to focus on being my best and doing the best job I can for the team."

Love has done pretty well so far, throwing for more than 3,300 yards and 20 touchdowns in the last three seasons, but he has some work to do to dethrone Rodgers as the best quarterback in Packers' history.

After all, Rodgers won three MVPs, a Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP in Green Bay.

The Packers and Steelers will face off in a preseason game on Thursday, and while Rodgers and Love likely won't play, it will give the two a chance to catch up one more time before Rodgers hangs it up.
