Jets' Breece Hall Drops Hilarious Quote on Approach to Fights at Joint Practices

Zach BacharAug 11, 2026

New York Jets running back Breece Hall revealed his self-imposed rule regarding fights in training camp following a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday.

"I got a rule: If you're over 240 [pounds], I ain't messing with you. โ€ฆ When I see a fight happen, that's my water break," Hall told reporters.

While fights during joint practices aren't a rare occurrence, it's still worth noting that several scuffles involving Tampa Bay and New York occurred on Tuesday.

The first fight started with an altercation between Buccaneers offensive tackle Luke Goedeke and Jets rookie pass-rusher David Bailey. Goedeke and Bailey are listed at 312 pounds and 251 pounds, respectively.

The 25-year-old Hall is entering his fifth season with the Jets, looking to help them improve upon a 3-14 finish in 2025.

Hall was a bright spot for New York last year, rushing for 1,065 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games. He also factored into the Jets' passing attack, reeling in 36 catches for 350 yards and one score.
