Nike and the NFL first dropped "Rivalries" uniforms in 2025, with AFC East and NFC West teams sporting them for intra-division games.
According to Andrew Lind of SportsLogos.net, the NFL will unveil this season's "Rivalries" uniforms for all eight AFC South and NFC North teams on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Lions team president Rod Wood spoke at the league's annual meetings about the jerseys (h/t Lions senior writer Tim Twentyman).
"They are very cool," Wood said.
"Different, but in the realm of our current uniform pallet. You have to wear them against one of your division rivals at a home game, so it'll depend on how the schedule comes together. But I think the fans will like it. It's different, but kind of a cool factor."
The Lions last dropped new uniforms in 2024 when they completely overhauled their set, including Honolulu blue home threads and the return of black alternate jerseys.
Now the Lions will add a Rivalries kit to that collection.
Looking ahead, NFC East and AFC West teams will get new Rivalries uniforms in 2027 followed by AFC North and NFC South teams in 2028.
