Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb Pitches Jerry Jones on New George Pickens Contract, Exec Says It's 'Realistic'

One of the Dallas Cowboys' biggest priorities this season is securing George Pickens to a long-term deal after placing the franchise tag on him this offseason.

CeeDee Lamb encouraged Jerry Jones to make it happen.

"I'm sure we can make a way," Lamb said, per Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein. "I know it's going to be a little crazy, but I know we can make a way for this one. Listen, this is my advocation: '@ Jerry, can you please figure out a way? Let's figure it out. I don't care what needs to happen.'

"'Let's figure it out and it's going to get you a couple more championships.'"

Pickens had a breakout season after being traded to Dallas, recording 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns. He and Lamb made for arguably the best wide receiver duo in the NFL in 2025.

But Pickens' success means the Cowboys will have to give him a hefty deal if they want to keep him around. That isn't easy when Lamb is one of the highest-paid wide receivers and quarterback Dak Prescott is also among the highest-paid players in the NFL.

The Cowboys also gave defensive lineman Quinnen Williams a three-year, $105.9 million extension on Monday.

Still, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones thinks the team can make it work.

"Yeah, just you got to tell me the rest [of our spending], too," Jones said, per Epstein. "At some point, you've got to figure that out. But no, I think it's realistic."

The Cowboys had one of the best offenses in the league last year, but a bad defense kept them from reaching the playoffs. If Jones can keep the core of Lamb, Pickens and Prescott together while bolstering the defense, Dallas could be a Super Bowl contender.

Of course, that's much easier said than done.
