Fantasy Football 2026 Players Generating Buzz Entering Preseason Week 1

The NFL world is buzzing.

About a lot.

Almost constantly.

Now, that's partly because optimism is in its richest supply possible ahead of the 2026 preseason's Week 1. It's also because consistently strong showing in training camps are perhaps foreshadowing breakout efforts for a handful of fantasy sleepers.

Let's spotlight three of those responsible for the loudest buzz and try to decipher what these strong showings might mean for their 2026 outlook.

Jaydon Blue, RB, Dallas Cowboys

Jaydon Blue drummed up a bit of buzz this time last year, when fantasy folks were wondering whether the Dallas Cowboys might find ways to carve out chances for their fifth-round rookie. Then, he basically went unused for the entire season before finally getting some work in Week 18, when he had 16 carries for 64 years and a touchdown.

Could the Cowboys pull the rug for a second straight season? Look, it's always possible, but Blue is doing what he can to secure a spot in this offense.

"The highest stock up on offense is easily running back Jaydon Blue," Cowboys Wire's Mike Crum wrote. "... He has broken a big play in every practice, and not just training camp plays that would be two-yard gains if the defense could tackle. These are legitimately explosive plays."

Blue is clearly still second in command of this backfield behind Javonte Williams, who set a number of personal-bests during his first season in Dallas (including 1,338 scrimmage yards and 13 touchdowns). Still, it looks like Blue could have decent value as a change-of-pace option, and he'd be a starting lock if Williams ever missed time.

Denzel Boston, WR, Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns placed a huge emphasis on using the 2026 draft to strengthen their offense, and their second-round investment in Denzel Boston (the 39th pick) was a big part of that plan.

So far, it seems like Boston will be a big part of this offense, too. He is a big, physical receiver with great hands, making him a potential go-to target in the red zone.

"I loved coaching Mike Evans. He's an absolute stud and fun to be around. And Denzel has some of those attributes in terms of catch radius," Browns head coach (and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator," Todd Monken told reporters.

Cleveland's spotty (at best) quarterback situation is a clear worry here, and Boston will have competition for targets. Still, his knack for finding the end zone could definitely carry over, and this team figures to be trailing a ton and airing it out accordingly.

Parker Washington, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

There were quite a few buzzy pass-catchers in the Jacksonville Jaguars offense last season, but none left a bigger imprint on the box score than third-year receiver Parker Washington. He led the team in targets (95), receptions (58) and receiving yards (847), and his five touchdown catches paced the Jags receivers.

With the kind of camp Washington is having so far, he might be in pole position to pace a lot of the stat categories once again.

"Parker Washington makes a play it feels like everyday," News4Jax's Jamal St. Cyr wrote. "I feel like it almost feels so routine from him at this point that the plays fly under the radar sometimes. I don't know if this is a hot take at this point but I think Washington will lead (the) Jags in receiving yards this season."

If Washington serves as the preferred target of Trevor Lawrence, that could go a long way. Lawrence has cleared 4,000 passing yards in three of the past four seasons—he played just 10 games in the other—and threw a career-high 29 touchdowns during Liam Coen's first season at the helm.
