Terrion Arnold Reportedly Visits Seahawks as Former Lions CB Draws Interest from Texans, More

The defending champs reportedly are eyeing some help in their secondary.

Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold visited with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Arnold has also drawn interest from the Houston Texans and other squads.

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald explained the situation on Monday:

"We are going to do our diligence," Macdonald said. "There are a lot of people in Terrion's corner that we respect as to the type of guy he is."

Arnold, a first-round pick in 2024, is coming off a season in which he recorded 31 tackles, eight passes defended and an interception in eight games. He missed the second half of the season after suffering a shoulder injury that required season-ending surgery.

In his sole healthy season in 2024, Arnold racked up 60 tackles and 10 passes defended.

The Lions released Arnold in June with two years remaining on his rookie contract.

Shortly after he was released from the Lions, Arnold reportedly worked out for the Texans and had interest from three other teams. It's unclear which teams are interested in Arnold aside from Houston and Seattle.

Both the Seahawks and Texans were among the NFL's best defenses last season. Seattle allowed the sixth-fewest yards per game (285.6) and the fewest points per game (17.2). Houston allowed the fewest yards per game (277.2) and the second-fewest points per game (17.4).

The Seahawks lost cornerback Riq Woolen in free agency this offseason, and Arnold could help make up for his absence.

Joining either Houston or Seattle would allow Arnold to be on a team suited to compete in 2026. In the case of the Seahawks, he could help them defend their 2025 Super Bowl victory.
