Anthony Richardson Discusses Trade Request, Colts Future on Video Amid 2026 NFL Training Camp

Heading into the 2026 season, Anthony Richardson is unsure about what the future holds.

The former No. 4 overall pick could be traded, but he said his previous trade request isn't something he's discussed with his agent recently.

"I haven't really even talked to my agent about (the trade request) recently," Richardson told reporters. "I haven't talked to (Chris) Ballard … I'm not necessarily sure what's going on. But I'm just here right now, trying to make sure I can stamp my foot on this team."

Richardson added that if a trade isn't in the cards, he's happy to stay in Indianapolis.

"Man, if that's what the team wants, that's what I want," he said. "I just want go be able to help a team. If it's this team, then I thank God for it. I'm just ready to showcase what I can do."

Richardson has had a disastrous start to his career, throwing for 2,400 yards, 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions over the last three seasons. He appeared in just two games last year before a freak accident led to a season-ending eye injury.

According to The Athletic's James Boyd, Richardson hasn't helped his case in training camp, and Riley Leonard "appears to be on track" to be Daniel Jones' backup quarterback.

"It's not my best camp. … It's not my worst camp," Richardson said. "I'm just trying to keep progressing."
